AI Engineer
At mea, our mission is to make customers’ lives easier by delivering insurance-specific technology that just works. We’re building an intelligent operating layer for the insurance industry—combining a domain-specific language model (dsLM) with an insurance knowledge graph to automate workflows end-to-end and deliver operational impact from day one.
Founded in 2021 and bootstrapped to 4 straight years of profitability, mea raised $50 million from SEP in February 2026 and now serves clients across 21 countries. We are a fully remote global team of over 100 insurance veterans and technologists, spanning the UK, US, India, continental Europe, and the Middle East. With the future for innovation in insurance looking more positive than it ever has before, you will be joining us at a moment in time where what we build now will define the next era of insurance operations.

- Design, develop, and optimize prompts for LLM-based workflows (extraction, QA, validation)
- Work on field-level extraction logic across complex documents (PDFs, emails, Excel, etc.)
- Analyse model outputs and identify failure patterns, edge cases, and inconsistencies
- Continuously improve prompt accuracy through iterative testing and refinement
- Collaborate with domain experts to understand business context and data nuances
- Support confidence calibration and validation logic
- Contribute to building reusable prompt templates and libraries
- Work with structured outputs (JSON, tables, schemas)
- Assist in integrating feedback loops (human-in-the-loop corrections, RLAIF)
- Document prompt strategies, assumptions, and improvements
