Job Description: Director, Program Management   

Reporting to: CTO

Role Overview  

At mea platform, we are seeking an experienced and highly strategic Director of Program Management to lead cross-functional product execution across multiple platforms, and product lines. This role is responsible for providing overall ownership of planning, execution, governance, and business outcomes.  

The Director of Program Management will serve as the central leadership layer connecting all team - Product, Engineering, AI/ML, Platform & Client Delivery. The individual will be responsible for ensuring that all initiatives are aligned with company goals and are delivered successfully, on time, and with high quality.  

This role requires a strong blend of technical expertise, delivery leadership, stakeholder management, and strategic thinking.  

Key Responsibilities  

Strategic Program Leadership  

  • Own the end-to-end execution of multiple strategic programs across product portfolios and business themes.  
  • Translate company objectives into actionable program roadmaps and execution plans.  
  • Drive alignment between product strategy, engineering execution, customer commitments, and business objectives.  
  • Establish governance models, operating rhythms, and program management best practices across the organization.  
  • Act as the executive owner for delivery health across all ongoing initiatives.  

Cross-Functional Delivery Management  

  • Lead and coordinate efforts across Product Management, Engineering, Architecture, AI/ML, Platform Operations, DevOps, QA, and Customer Success teams.  
  • Ensure seamless execution across multiple concurrent workstreams and product initiatives.  
  • Drive program planning, execution tracking, dependency management, and issue resolution.  
  • Monitor progress against milestones, deliverables, budgets, and business outcomes.  
  • Remove organizational and cross-team obstacles impacting delivery.  

Product & Technology Leadership  

  • Develop a strong understanding of the company’s products, platforms, customer use cases, and technology landscape.  
  • Partner closely with Product Leaders to ensure engineering execution aligns with product priorities.  
  • Work with architects and engineering leaders on technical strategy, scalability, performance, and platform evolution.  
  • Review technical trade-offs and ensure delivery plans are realistic and aligned with business goals.  
  • Provide leadership oversight across:  
  • Frontend technologies  
  • Backend systems  
  • APIs and integrations  
  • Cloud infrastructure  
  • Data platforms  
  • AI/ML initiatives  
  • Security and compliance programs  

Portfolio & Roadmap Governance 

  

  • Drive quarterly, half-yearly, and annual planning exercises.  
  • Manage prioritization across competing business demands and resource constraints.  
  • Ensure dependencies across teams and product areas are identified and actively managed.  
  • Maintain executive-level visibility into roadmap progress, risks, and investment priorities.  
  • Establish metrics and dashboards for tracking program performance.  

Stakeholder Management  

  • Serve as the senior point of contact for internal and external stakeholders.  
  • Communicate program health, key milestones, risks, delays, and mitigation plans to executive leadership.  
  • Build strong partnerships with business leaders, customers, and strategic partners.  
  • Align stakeholders around priorities, expectations, and delivery timelines.  
  • Facilitate executive reviews, steering committee meetings, and strategic planning sessions.  

Risk & Operational Excellence  

  • Proactively identify delivery risks, technical challenges, capacity constraints, and operational bottlenecks.  
  • Implement mitigation strategies to ensure successful outcomes.  
  • Drive continuous improvement in execution processes, delivery predictability, and organizational effectiveness.  
  • Establish standard operating procedures and program governance frameworks.  

Team Leadership & Mentorship  

  • Mentor and guide Product Managers, Program Managers, Delivery Managers, and Release Managers.  
  • Build a culture of accountability, collaboration, transparency, and execution excellence.  
  • Develop future program leadership capabilities within the organization.  
  • Influence decision-making across departments without relying solely on hierarchical authority.  

Required Qualifications  

  • 15+ years of experience in Program Management, Product Delivery, Engineering Management, or Technical Leadership roles.  
  • 5+ years leading large-scale cross-functional programs in a product or SaaS organization.  
  • Experience operating at Director or Senior Leadership level.  
  • Strong understanding of software development lifecycle and modern product development methodologies.  
  • Demonstrated experience managing multiple complex programs simultaneously.  
  • Proven track record of delivering strategic initiatives in fast-paced startup or scale-up environments.
