Job Description: Release Manager

Role Overview
At mea platform, we are looking for a highly organized and proactive Release Manager to own and drive the end-to-end release lifecycle across our product, engineering, and client delivery teams. This role acts as the central point for all product releases, ensuring seamless communication, timely execution, stakeholder alignment, and successful delivery.
The ideal candidate will have strong program management skills, excellent communication abilities, and a deep understanding of agile product development and release processes.
Key Responsibilities
Release Planning & Management
- Own and manage the complete release lifecycle from planning through deployment and post-release monitoring.
- Create, maintain, and communicate release plans, schedules, milestones, and dependencies.
- Ensure releases are delivered on time, within scope, and with minimal disruption.
- Track release readiness across all teams and proactively identify risks and bottlenecks.
Cross-Functional Coordination
- Work closely with Product, Engineering, QA, Architecture, DevOps, and Client Delivery teams.
- Gather and consolidate all release-related updates, requirements, risks, dependencies, and status reports.
- Ensure alignment between internal teams and client expectations.
- Facilitate cross-functional meetings, release reviews, and sprint planning sessions.
Stakeholder Communication
- Act as the primary point of communication for all release-related updates.
- Communicate release timelines, progress, risks, blockers, delays, and mitigation plans to stakeholders.
- Prepare and share release notes, status reports, and executive-level updates.
- Ensure stakeholders have complete visibility into release progress and delivery commitments.
Client & Product Alignment
- Develop a deep understanding of the product, roadmap, client requirements, and business priorities.
- Collaborate with client-facing teams to understand delivery commitments and customer expectations.
- Translate client requirements and priorities into actionable inputs for product and engineering teams.
- Ensure product updates and release scope are communicated clearly across teams.
Sprint & Roadmap Management
- Monitor sprint execution and track progress against release commitments.
- Understand what is being developed, tested, and delivered during each sprint.
- Prioritize and manage release planning across multiple sprints.
- Drive planning and prioritization for release activities over a rolling 3-month horizon.
- Ensure dependencies across teams are identified and managed effectively.
Risk & Dependency Management
- Identify release risks, blockers, and dependencies early.
- Work with relevant stakeholders to develop mitigation plans.
- Escalate critical issues when necessary and drive resolution.
- Track release health through key metrics and reporting.
Process Improvement
- Continuously improve release management processes, governance, and communication frameworks.
- Introduce best practices for release planning, sprint tracking, change management, and stakeholder reporting.
- Drive operational excellence across the product delivery lifecycle.
Required Qualifications
- 15+ years of experience in Release Management, or Technical Delivery.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum-based product development environments.
- Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and release management practices.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Ability to work across Product, Engineering, Architecture, QA, DevOps, and Client Delivery teams.
- Strong organizational, planning, and prioritization capabilities.
- Experience managing multiple parallel releases and competing priorities.
- Proven ability to identify risks and drive cross-functional resolution.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in Saas, Product Startups or high growth technology companies.
- Familiarity with github.
- Understanding of cloud-based deployments and CI/CD release processes.
- Experience working directly with enterprise clients and customer-facing teams.
