At mea Platform, we’re transforming the insurance industry through innovation, collaboration, and empowerment. Our mission is to drive meaningful change by leveraging cutting-edge technology, fostering a culture of excellence, and delivering customer-centric solutions that reshape the future of insurance.

Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled UI/UX Designer with deep understanding of insurance and underwriting
operations who can transform complex workflows into intuitive, user-centered digital experiences. The
ideal candidate will be a hands-on design professional with strong expertise in Figma and Figma
Make (or similar AI-driven prototyping tools like Bolt/Lovable), able to rapidly turn prompts into interactive
prototypes and iterate at pace. This role requires exceptional communication, collaboration skills, and
domain knowledge to work effectively with cross-functional teams in a fast-moving environment.

Reports to: Lead-Designer

Responsibilities

1) Design & Prototyping

  • Translate user needs, business requirements, and insurance workflows into clear, interactive
prototypes, wireframes, user journeys, and high-fidelity UI designs.
  • AI-driven prototyping knowledge using Figma Make, or similar tools to generate interactive
prototypes from natural language prompts and structured inputs, rapidly
validating concepts and refining experience logic.
  • Setup and manage complex Figma and Figma Make workfiles, efficiently port developments
across multiple files, and maintain structured prompting practices to support scalable design
    iterations.
  • Ensure prototypes and UI assets adhere to established design systems, visual
    conventions, accessibility and responsiveness standards.
  • Plan, facilitate and analyse user testing sessions on prototypes to validate design assumptions,
uncover usability issues early, and iterate based on real user feedback using UX
Research Methods to improve the overall experience.

2) Domain Expertise – Insurance & Underwriting

  • Apply a strong understanding of insurance products, underwriting operations, policy
lifecycles, compliance and risk workflows directly into the UI/UX design process.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, product owners and SMEs to interpret requirements from
an underwriting context and incorporate that depth into usable design solutions.

3) Design Systems & Figma Mastery

  • Lead efforts independently to maintain and evolve the company’s design
system, component libraries, tokens, and conventions for consistency and reusability across
    digital experiences.
  • Demonstrate advanced Figma proficiency including deep use of Auto Layouts,
components/variants, variables, constraints, and condition-based behaviours, ensuring designs
    are adaptable and development-ready.

4) Collaboration & Communication

  • Work closely with CPO, Leads, Product managers, Developers, and other stakeholders to align
on goals, communicate design decisions, and integrate feedback.
  • Present design concepts, prototypes, flows and rationale clearly and confidently to both
    technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Actively participate in agile rituals (stand-ups, demos, sprint planning) and share progress
    regularly to support team momentum.

5) Design Iteration & Feedback Integration

  • Collect and interpret usability feedback, user research insights, and stakeholder inputs to refine
and evolve prototypes toward production solutions.
  • Collaborate with developers to ensure smooth hand-offs and that designs are implemented
    accurately.

6) Frontend Knowledge (Brownie Point)

  • Apply basic frontend knowledge (React/CSS/JS principles) to design decisions that feel
implementable and responsive, improving designer–developer alignment and efficient
prompting on Figma Make or similar tools.
    Skills & attributes
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, facilitate, and analyse usability testing on prototypes, using
structured UX research methods (e.g., usability sessions, task analysis, feedback
synthesis), validate design assumptions early, uncover usability issues, and iterate designs
    based on real user insights.
  • Strong communicator with excellent collaboration skills and ability to present actionable design
    reasoning.
  • Comfortable working in agile and rapid iterative delivery environments.
    Education and Experience
  • 3–5+ years of UI/UX design experience, with a strong portfolio demonstrating user-centered
design thinking, interactive prototypes, and polished UI outcomes.
  • Solid domain knowledge of insurance and underwriting operations, with the ability to translate
business logic and workflow requirements into intuitive digital experiences.
  • Deep proficiency in Figma – expert understanding of Auto Layouts, components/variants,
    variables, conditions, and connected workflows.
  • Advanced experience with prototyping tools such as Figma Make / Bolt / Lovable, with the
ability to craft natural language prompts to drive interactive prototype creation swiftly and
    effectively.

Nice to have

  • Prior experience in fintech, insuretech or enterprise digital product teams.
  • Familiarity with frontend development and additional prototyping and user testing tools.
  • Experience collaborating directly with frontend engineers and/or basic frontend implementation
    support.
