mea Operations Named Insurance Technology Launch of the Year at the 2026 British Insurance Technology Awards
At the 2026 British Insurance Technology Awards, mea Operations won Insurance Technology Launch of the Year and mea Platform was Highly Commended for Insurance Technology Provider of the Year. The win completes a run of three industry awards in eight days, each assessing a different part of the same picture: the technology, the work already live with clients, and the product built on top of both.
mea Platform is an award-winning insurance technology platform. At the 2026 British Insurance Technology Awards, mea Operations, the platform that runs the repeatable work with agentic AI across underwriting, claims, finance, and broking, won Insurance Technology Launch of the Year. mea Platform was also Highly Commended for Insurance Technology Provider of the Year.
The recognition comes a week after two wins at the Insurance Times Tech and Innovation Awards, and the three awards fit together. Best Use of AI: Service Provider affirmed the technology underneath the platform: the proprietary domain-specific language model℠ (dsLM) and insurance knowledge graph℠ that give mea’s agents the context to operate on live insurance work. Technology Partner of the Year affirmed what that technology is doing in production, judged on mea’s deployment with Moonrock Insurance and the results running there today. Insurance Technology Launch of the Year affirms the product built on both, and that the market needed it.
The awards, organized by Insurance Post and held September 24 at The Brewery in London, were hosted by comedian Ian Smith in front of hundreds of guests from across the UK market. mea Platform was a finalist in three categories:
- Won — Insurance Technology Launch of the Year, for mea Operations
- Highly Commended — Insurance Technology Provider of the Year
- Finalist — Best AI and Automation Solutions Provider
“We struck gold again,” said Graeme Asquith, UK Managing Director at mea Platform, who accepted the award alongside UK Sales Director Seb Prosser.

Insurance Technology Launch of the Year
Insurance Technology Launch of the Year asks something the other categories do not: what did you bring to market, and what has it done since. A roadmap does not answer that, and neither does a pilot. Only a product running in live production does.
mea Operations launched in October 2025 as a single operating layer across underwriting, claims, finance, and broking. The premise behind it was that the drag in (re)insurance has never been the individual task. It is the fragmentation between tasks: inboxes, queues, handoffs, rekeying, and reconciliation, with each function depending on systems that do not fully connect.
Point tools have taken pieces of that work for years without moving operating cost, because the work between the pieces stayed manual, and the broader structure always held. Today, the technology has finally caught up with that fragmentation, and AI built specifically for insurance can run the repeatable work; the same work 83% of senior insurance leaders say they are ready to hand to AI.
mea Operations addresses that entire layer rather than a single, isolated step. More than 50 insurance-native AI agents run the work end-to-end: processor agents own whole business processes, component agents handle discrete tasks, and people are engaged for exceptions and judgment only. The foundation below those agents is what allows them to operate reliably on live, high-stakes insurance work: underneath sits a proprietary domain-specific language model℠ (dsLM) trained on more than five years of real (re)insurance workflows, documents, and decisions. Paired with it, a proprietary insurance knowledge graph℠ that sits above the dsLM, modeling coverages, exposures, and the relationships between them; allowing it to map complex relationships, data, and information to execution.
mea Operations arrives with 125,000+ pre-trained insurance fields and 92%+ extraction accuracy out of the box, with contractual accuracy guarantees, no AI training, no prompt engineering, and no heavy configuration on the client side. It deploys in weeks alongside the systems clients already run rather than replacing them.
A launch category generally rewards a product the market turned out to need. Winning it less than a year in, a week after the technology beneath it and the client work built on it were recognized separately, shows the product, the technology, and the results holding together; and that the industry is ready to adopt them.
Highly Commended: Insurance Technology Provider of the Year
mea Platform was also Highly Commended for Insurance Technology Provider of the Year, one of the broadest categories of the night. Congratulations to the winner and to every finalist in a strong field!
Why mea Winning the British Insurance Technology Awards Matters
Insurance Technology Launch of the Year is judged by a panel of practitioners looking at what reached the market, what reached production, and what changed for the people using it. mea Operations won that category less than a year after launch because of the results it has delivered for clients:
- Up to 40% increase in underwriting capacity
- Up to 60% operating cost reduction
- Up to 90% cycle time compression
These wins follow a run of recognition through the summer. In July, mea was named across independent 2026 research and awards spanning Life, P&C, and specialty lines from Gartner®, Datos Insights, and the AI FinTech 100. In recent months, mea was shortlisted across eight categories in leading UK and US programs, including the UK Broker Awards, the Insurance Insider US Honors, and the Insurance Times Awards; alongside a Global 5-Star Technology and Software Provider rating for 2026.
Today, mea is live with 30+ clients across 20+ countries and has processed more than $450 billion in gross written premium through the platform. Our domain-specific language model (dsLM) and insurance knowledge graph give our AI agents the domain context to run the repeatable work for brokers, reinsurers, carriers, and MGAs, freeing talent to fuel what makes their organization special.
Together, these judgments affirm the technology, the work running in production, and the product built on both. They point at the same conclusion the industry reached over the summer: agentic AI is moving out of pilots, deeper into the workflow, and mea is the company doing it.
Thank you to the Insurance Post judges, and to the clients and partners whose work in production makes recognition like this possible!
