Best Use of AI: Service Provider

The first award of the evening went to mea Platform for Best Use of AI: Service Provider. Here is what the judging panel had to say:

“A genuinely innovative, game-changing solution, mea Platform impressed with its ability to transform the way insurers and brokers work together. By using AI to convert the natural variability of broker submissions into structured, high-quality data, it frees underwriters to focus on judgment-led decisions rather than repetitive administrative tasks. The platform helps insurers win business more efficiently, while providing the reliable data foundation needed to develop the products customers will want and need in the future.”

Variability is one of the key problems insurers are facing in operations today: submissions arrive as emails, quotes return as PDFs, claims updates live in attachments, and none of it talks to each other.

mea handles diverse formats because the underlying technology was built for it, from the ground up. mea runs on a proprietary domain-specific language model℠ (dsLM) trained on more than five years of real (re)insurance workflows, and a proprietary insurance knowledge graph℠ that models coverages, exposures, and relationships. Together, these give mea’s agents the context to operate reliably across fragmented workflows and return structured data across various formats, delivering 92%+ extraction accuracy out of the box.

In their review, the judges identified the downstream effect as a key differentiator. When AI takes care of the repeatable administrative tasks consuming up to 70% of underwriters’ time, underwriters return to risk selection, exceptions, and judgment calls. In production, we are seeing this show up as a 40% average increase in underwriting capacity across deployments.

Technology Partner of the Year

The second award of the night was Technology Partner of the Year, judged on collaboration and results delivered alongside insurers, brokers, and MGAs. The case study behind the entry was mea’s deployment with Moonrock Insurance, a specialist MGA underwriting drone and emerging aviation risks across UAS, BVLOS, and eVTOL. In Moonrock’s market, risk evolves monthly and operators cannot fly until they are covered. So, rather than spend years creating their own automation, Moonrock built its entire operating model on mea Operations from formation, integrated via REST API with no core systems replaced. When discussing mea’s win in partnership with Moonrock, the judges said:

“The winner shared a really strong case study that supplemented their presentation. It is a cost effective and comprehensive solution for the client and was groundbreaking in terms of what they have achieved.”

Today, a submission at Moonrock reaches an underwriter structured and triaged, and they are engaged only where judgment is required. With mea owning the repeatable work, Moonrock can scale into new markets and lines without increasing headcount. We are pleased to work alongside the Moonrock team, and this recognition belongs to them as much as it does to us.

Highly Commended: Innovation of the Year, Technology Service Provider

mea was also Highly Commended in Innovation of the Year: Technology Service Provider. Congratulations to Percayso Inform on the win!

Why mea Winning the Insurance Times Tech & Innovation Awards Matters

This year, the judging panels assessed agentic AI on production evidence. mea’s two wins and Highly Commended recognition at the Insurance Times Tech and Innovation Awards confirm that the platform operates reliably at scale and delivers measurable results for clients.

mea Platform is an award-winning insurance technology platform serving carriers, brokers, MGAs, and reinsurers. Today, mea is live with 30+ clients across 20+ countries and has processed more than $450 billion in gross written premium through the platform. Our domain-specific language model (dsLM) and insurance knowledge graph give our AI agents the domain context to run the repeatable work across underwriting, claims, finance, and broking, freeing mea clients’ talent for what makes their organization special. These awards matter because the judging panel rewarded results already delivered for clients in production.

Thank you to the Insurance Times judges, and to the clients and partners whose work in production makes recognition like this possible!

AI agents own the repeatable. People own the consequential.

Cut the drag. Just win.

Insurance AI that shows up on your bottom line.
